Tylden Shaeffer
is a San Antonio board certified criminal defense lawyer who has concentrated his law practice on
criminal law for over the past fifteen years. Mr. Shaeffer grew up in
San Antonio. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in international
relations from Brown University and he earned his law degree from the
University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1990. He has been
licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since 1990 by the Texas
Supreme Court.
Mr. Shaeffer is a
former federal law clerk for a Dallas Immigration Court Judge, and he
has worked at several San Antonio law firms. Mr. Shaeffer
worked in the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office from January of 1991
to January, 2000.
He left the D.A.’s office as a first chair
felony prosecutor. During his tenure as a prosecutor, Mr. Shaeffer tried over 100
jury trials, including several death penalty cases. He
worked in many areas of the D.A.’s office,
including DWI, misdemeanor offenses, felony offenses, white collar crime, family violence
cases and juvenile law. As a private attorney, Mr. Shaeffer has
handled cases in all of these areas.
